Diffused Stable

A self-portrait of sorts. Though not the kind that announces itself.

This began as a reflection in an old mirror found on a stable wall — degraded, spotted, imperfect — the cobwebs left exactly where they were. No studio. No arrangement. No attempt to flatter or clarify. Just a figure caught in a decaying surface, already half-dissolved before the process began.

And then the iterations started. The algorithm found the diffusion already present in the mirror and ran with it, deepening the ghostliness, spreading the dissolution, until the figure became something between a presence and an absence — there and not there, solid and spectral at once.

Of all the works in this collection, this is the only one in which the artist themselves appears. They chose a cobwebbed mirror in a stable. They left the imperfections in. Make of that what you will.

Each work is the result of many recurrent iterations — a slow, cumulative process in which the algorithm repeatedly returns to the same surface pattern, strengthening and migrating it across the image until the original subject fractures and gives way to the metallic sheens, stained glass luminosity and calligraphic forms that define these prints. This is not a single-step filter. It is a process of gradual transformation, and the outcome of each iteration is never fully predictable.
